    Asalamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah!

And Hi to those who are non Muslims.

I’m Maraym, 30 and married. Got 1 kiddo and loving my life.

Why have I set up this blog? In general, to speak about the things that bother me about life, to talk about some of my experiences and to make some connections with the wider world.
I do have ONE simple request though. Even though this blog is public, I do not really communicate with men (in a chit chat manner on this blog) and there for request that any man who wishes to post comments keep it clean, to the point and non sexual.
I will go into more details about myself at a later date but for now, I need to concentrate on knowing how to use this blog site to make it a beneficial place to speak about the many issues that I have bursting to come out of me.

Ps No swearing, foul, racist, unlawful or discriminative comments please.

    Thank you.

UPDATE: To give a few more details about my interests, I love my child, husband, family and cat (ha ha ha).
I enjoy reading many different types of books and writing (thus this blog). I socialize with friends regularly and enjoy eating out every so often.
I love long walks, the sea, green areas (lots of space) and all interactions with the many diverse people I meet on a daily basis.

I am open to suggestions and constructive advise/ criticism, I welcome diverse views and strongly believe in the saying “live and let live”.
I believe that a lot more needs to be done about the struggles women all around the globe face, I believe in having faith and patience in all things but on the other hand, I am also a strong believer in affirmative action.
Hard work in life gets you somewhere and having pride in yourself is a great motivator in attaining goals.

Before becoming a Muslimah, I had many favorite books that I still re read, one of those books being “Gifted hands” by Dr Ben Carson.
I love books by Maya Angelou, Thomas Hardy and David Copperfield amongst many others.
I used to enjoy music (but do not listen to it so much now).
I have had many a diverse job titles from chamber maid, bar worker, bingo caller, chef, to running my own businesses, being a part of a larger corporation, manager, supervisor, photographer and teacher.
I have a love of gardening.
I adore being out in nature and learning new things.

Many things have changed about me over my short life and have made me into a better person and parent (or so I think and pray).
I try to learn from my mistakes and understand that I will make many more in life. Saying that, I try my best to be a good person, to treat others as I would hope they will treat me, I cannot say much more at this point in time without gibbering on too much so for now, take good care of yourself and I hope you enjoy my blog.
